Rittal Expands Procurement Partnership with JAGGAER
  • PublishedMarch 20, 2025

Rittal, a global provider of electrical enclosures, power distribution, climate control, IT infrastructure, software and services, has confirmed JAGGAER as its procurement platform. The system supports sourcing, contract management, order processing, supplier relationships and complaint management, aiming to enhance efficiency and transparency.

Headquartered in Herborn, Hesse, Rittal initially adopted JAGGAER’s platform in 2011 to streamline procurement, eliminate fragmented processes and improve data management. Existing software solutions had become outdated and no longer met the company’s strategic procurement needs. In selecting a new system, Rittal prioritised a comprehensive, modular structure with multilingual capabilities to ensure seamless implementation across its international sites. JAGGAER’s source-to-pay platform met these requirements and was chosen for deployment.

The implementation yielded immediate benefits. “We quickly saw measurable results, which helped demonstrate the value of this investment to stakeholders while supporting our long-term objectives,” said Björn Jacobi, Director of Global Commodity Management at Rittal GmbH & Co. KG. Initially focusing on direct materials procurement, the company introduced JAGGAER ONE for order management and requests for quotations, later expanding its use across additional modules. Today, the system manages sourcing, contracts, orders, and supplier relations, with over 3,000 suppliers integrated and more than 207,000 orders processed. The platform now serves as a centralised hub for supplier data, accessible across Rittal’s global operations.

Risk Management and ESG Compliance

Beyond procurement, JAGGAER supports Rittal in risk management and compliance with the EU Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) and environmental, social and governance (ESG) criteria. The platform is integrated with Sphera’s risk management system and IntegrityNext for supply chain monitoring. This enables real-time assessment of supplier compliance and sustainability credentials using an integrated traffic light system. Suppliers are required to provide details on material origins and ESG factors during onboarding, while JAGGAER ONE facilitates ongoing monitoring, annual reporting and key performance indicator tracking.

Rittal’s procurement processes have undergone significant transformation. “JAGGAER provides the tools we need to stay ahead of evolving requirements,” said Jacobi. The company is now working to expand the system’s international reach and ensure full module availability across all locations.

Reflecting on the long-standing collaboration, Hany Mosbeh, Senior Vice President – MEAPAC at JAGGAER, said: “We are pleased to continue supporting Rittal’s strategic goals and procurement evolution.”
