ADNOC plans to introduce autonomous agentic AI to revolutionize the energy sector, partnering with G42, Microsoft, and AIQ. As a leading oil producer, the UAE seeks stronger ties with U.S. technology to build its own advanced tech industry.

Spearheaded by G42, which received a $1.5 billion investment from Microsoft in April, this effort aims to shift the economy away from oil dependence.

“The rapid rise of AI is sparking a power surge beyond what anyone predicted,” said Sultan Al Jaber, ADNOC’s CEO, Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology, and COP28 President. He highlighted agentic AI as the next evolution in artificial intelligence, capable of operating independently to perform complex tasks.

“This AI will not only process vast amounts of data but will autonomously identify ways to enhance operations,” Jaber explained. “Seismic survey times will reduce from months to days, and production forecasts will become up to 90% more accurate.”

Investing heavily in AI, the UAE is also developing Arabic and Hindi language chatbots akin to ChatGPT. Officials believe this technological ambition will secure the UAE’s influence and economic position well into a post-oil future
