The United Arab Emirates University (UAEU) has unveiled its Artificial Intelligence Agenda 2025-2031 to elevate its academic and research programmes.
The launch event was attended by Zaki Anwar Nusseibeh, Cultural Advisor to the UAE President and Chancellor of UAEU, along with various academic and administrative staff members.
During his speech, Nusseibeh highlighted that the UAEU’s AI Agenda aligns with the UAE Cabinet’s recent adoption of the nation’s international AI policy.
“This crucial step demonstrates our unwavering commitment to enhancing UAEU’s standing as a leader in education, research, and community engagement while embracing modern technological advancements,” he stated.
He also stressed that UAEU will continue to excel as a top educational institution, focusing on equipping future generations with essential technical and technological skills to make a positive global impact.
The Chancellor further explained that the UAE’s leadership is proactive in anticipating the future, placing the nation among the global leaders in artificial intelligence. This has been achieved through the implementation of integrated strategies, such as the National Strategy for Artificial Intelligence, part of the UAE Centennial 2071 plan, the appointment of the world’s first Minister of AI, and fostering an environment of technological innovation.
Dr. Fekri Kharbash, Acting Dean of the College of Information Technology, provided a comprehensive overview of the UAEU AI Agenda’s objectives. These include solidifying the university’s role as a leading academic and research institution, cultivating an innovative environment driven by advanced technologies, and positioning UAEU at the forefront of AI integration in education, research, and administration.
