Digital Dubai, the entity overseeing the emirate’s digital transformation, has unveiled plans for the Dubai Data and Artificial Intelligence Platform. Developed in collaboration with Moro Hub, a subsidiary of Digital DEWA, this platform will be launched by the end of September 2024. The initiative aims to position Dubai as a global leader in digital data management by offering a unified gateway for data sharing and analysis between government and private sector entities.

The platform promises to enhance accessibility, security, and the quality of data shared across different sectors. Additionally, it will employ advanced Artificial Intelligence (AI) methods to help government institutions make informed decisions, thereby improving Dubai’s data maturity index. By focusing on performance indicators and easing data exchange, the platform is designed to elevate Dubai’s digital infrastructure to global standards.

Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD and CEO of DEWA, expressed his commitment to the initiative: “We operate in line with the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, which aim to strengthen the UAE’s leading global position in digital solutions. The cooperation agreement with Digital Dubai enhances digital innovation, advancing Dubai’s digital infrastructure and aligning with our leadership’s vision to transform the emirate into a global hub for innovation and technology.”

He added, “This initiative contributes to the Dubai Economic Agenda, D33, which aims to double Dubai’s economy in 10 years. It will help solidify Dubai’s position among the top three urban economies globally.”

Hamad Obaid Al Mansoori, Director-General of Digital Dubai, highlighted that the platform marks a significant step in Dubai’s journey toward digital transformation. He stated: “While the world is witnessing rapid changes in technology, the importance of digital data remains constant. This platform will help strengthen Dubai’s position as a global digital capital.”

The Dubai Data and AI Platform will also focus on leveraging synthetic data for enhanced flexibility, enabling more accurate government performance in sectors like finance and logistics. Moro Cloud will host the platform, which is expected to support real-time analytics, IoT applications, and cybersecurity systems. The platform aims to reduce operational costs while increasing the efficiency and accuracy of Dubai’s data infrastructure.

The unified system will merge existing platforms, including Dubai Pulse and the Dubai Statistics Centre Portal. This integration will streamline data-sharing processes and ensure seamless connectivity between government and private sector entities, contributing to Dubai’s smart city development goals.
