Abu Dhabi’s ambition to lead the world in AI-powered governance has earned global recognition, with TAMM AI Assistant named among the top five finalists at the prestigious World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS) Prizes 2025 in the E-Government (C7) category. The shortlisting reflects Abu Dhabi’s growing international stature as a pioneer in AI-led governance and digital excellence.

Developed by the Department of Government Enablement – Abu Dhabi (DGE), TAMM AI Assistant is a flagship initiative under the Abu Dhabi Digital Strategy 2025–2027. Since its launch in October 2024, the platform has handled over 630,000 conversations and more than one million messages, connecting users to upwards of 950 services through AI-powered support in both Arabic and English.

The nomination reinforces Abu Dhabi’s ambition to become the world’s first AI-native government — one that anticipates citizen needs, removes barriers, and delivers seamless, intuitive public services. TAMM forms part of a broader digital ecosystem led by DGE, which aims to implement 200 enterprise AI use cases by 2027 and redefine the relationship between government and citizens.

His Excellency Ahmed Tamim Hisham Al Kuttab, Chairman of the Department of Government Enablement – Abu Dhabi, stated:
“TAMM’s nomination highlights the strength of our collective commitment to building a government that truly works for people — one that is faster, smarter and more intuitive.

TAMM AI Assistant exemplifies what can be achieved when we bring together innovation with empathy, and technology with purpose. Together, we are helping to create a future-ready government — one that anticipates needs, removes obstacles and places people at the heart of every service.”

To date, over 400,000 users have engaged with TAMM AI Assistant, which autonomously resolves 95 per cent of requests, enabling human agents to focus on more complex queries.

His Excellency Dr Mohamed Al Askar, Director General of TAMM, commented: “This global recognition of TAMM marks a significant milestone in Abu Dhabi’s digital government journey. It demonstrates what is possible when innovation, data and collaboration come together in service of society.”

The WSIS Prizes celebrate ICT-driven innovations worldwide that support the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals. Winners across 18 categories will be announced at a live ceremony in Geneva, Switzerland on 8 July 2025.

The UAE has maintained a strong track record at the WSIS Prizes, with multiple accolades since the programme’s launch in 2012. This year, TAMM AI Assistant stands as the only initiative from the UAE to have secured a finalist position for the 2025 WSIS Prizes. Previous winning entries from the UAE have spanned areas including digital education, cybersecurity, smart platforms and public sector innovation.

TAMM has become an essential part of daily life in Abu Dhabi, streamlining access to vital government services with speed and efficiency. Its nomination for the WSIS Prizes 2025 positions Abu Dhabi as a global exemplar in digital governance and underscores DGE’s pivotal role in building a future-ready, AI-native public sector.
