On-demand delivery platform Lalamove has officially launched operations in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), marking its entry into a 14th global market. The move also represents a notable expansion within the EMEA (Europe, the Middle East and Africa) region, with full service now available across Dubai and drop-off options in Sharjah and Abu Dhabi.
The company, founded in Hong Kong in 2013, uses technology to connect users with driver partners and vehicles on demand. To mark the launch, Lalamove is offering a 30% discount on deliveries across all vehicle types.
With small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) accounting for around 40% of the UAE’s GDP, the delivery platform is positioning its services as a means to support local businesses and respond to the rise of e-commerce. Its offering includes instant matching, multi-stop orders with real-time tracking, and a range of vehicle options from cars to 1-tonne and 3-tonne pickup trucks, designed to cater to varying business needs and reduce logistics costs.
“The UAE has long been a pivotal global trading and logistics hub, connecting Asia, Europe, and Africa. The Lalamove team is thrilled to bring our proven model to the UAE, customised to meet the unique local needs. By leveraging our advanced technology, we aim to empower SMEs and create earning opportunities for driver partners. Our ability to adapt to local nuances enables us to implement tailored strategies for each market, delivering scalable, agile logistics solutions that drive growth for the local economy,” said Paul Loo, Chief Operating Officer of Lalamove.
As part of its entry into the UAE, the company is also seeking to attract driver partners by offering a flexible earnings model. This allows drivers to manage their own schedules, with opportunities for additional income through bonus schemes, vehicle advertising and a referral programme. The approach, Lalamove says, aims to streamline access to delivery opportunities while providing SMEs with immediate and affordable logistics services.
