Adeera, a hotel management company, has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Saudi Arabia’s Architecture and Design Commission (ADC) to incorporate the Kingdom’s cultural identity into Adeera’s hospitality brands. The partnership aligns with the principles of the King Salman Charter for Architecture and Urbanism, reinforcing Adeera’s commitment to embedding Saudi heritage within its hotel experiences.

The agreement also reflects ADC’s dedication to promoting local talent, advancing various design disciplines, and raising awareness of Saudi Arabia’s diverse cultural and architectural heritage. Several key areas of collaboration have been outlined:

  • Implementation of King Salman Urban Charter Values: Adeera and ADC will assess and integrate the principles of the King Salman Urban Charter into Adeera’s design standards. This initiative aims to ensure that Saudi Arabia’s cultural and urban identity is authentically reflected in the company’s hospitality projects.
  • Awareness & Learning Programmes: Jointly organised workshops and educational initiatives will be conducted to highlight the influence of Saudi culture on architecture and design. These programmes will be developed in accordance with the guidelines of both Adeera and ADC.
  • Promotion of Saudi Design Talent: ADC will recommend local designers to contribute to Adeera’s projects, fostering the growth of Saudi talent. These designers will create culturally inspired industrial products to be incorporated into Adeera’s developments, showcasing Saudi craftsmanship on a global stage.

Beyond these specific areas of cooperation, the MoU aims to encourage ongoing cultural enrichment and innovation within Saudi Arabia’s hospitality and design sectors. The collaboration reinforces Adeera’s ambition to be a national leader in the hospitality industry while underlining ADC’s commitment to strengthening the Kingdom’s architectural, urban, and industrial design landscape.

Stefan Leser, CEO of Adeera, stated: “Our collaboration with the Architecture and Design Commission is centred on integrating Saudi Arabia’s cultural essence into Adeera’s hotel brands. We are committed to drawing inspiration from the Kingdom’s rich heritage while nurturing local talent to create hospitality experiences that reflect our identity and narrative.” He added that preserving and enhancing heritage is a crucial element in achieving sustainable development.

Dr. Sumaya Al-Solaiman, CEO of ADC, commented: “This partnership underscores our mission to embed Saudi identity into architecture and design while empowering local creatives to shape authentic hospitality experiences. Integrating cultural heritage into hotel projects not only strengthens national identity but also contributes to sustainable development and reinforces Saudi Arabia’s position as a global hub for creativity.”
